If the plant room is situated 20 metres away, undersized 2x1.5 mm² cable can drop terminal voltage to 9V, producing severe dimming and color shift. Engineering rule: Specify 2x4 mm² rubber H07RN-F cable for runs of 15–25 metres, and 2x6 mm² conductors for distances spanning 25–40 metres.
